Brombeere
Die Früchte der Brombeere enthalten reichlich Vitamine und Mineralstoffe, z.B. Calcium (davon mehr als alle anderen Beerensorten) oder Vitamin C. Außerdem sind sie Ballaststoffreich, die für eine gute Verdauung und Sättigung wichtig sind. Die ebenfalls reichlich enthaltenen Flavonoiden (blauen Farbstoffe) wirken immunstimulierend. Die Wirkstoffe der Brombeere kräftigen das Bindegewebe und die Gefäßwände. Ein Saft aus den Beeren hilft bei Heiserkeit und Halsschmerzen.
Die getrockneten Blätter sind aufgrund ihres Gehalts an Gerbstoffen bei der Behandlung leichter Darmerkrankungen oder bei Entzündungen der Mund- und Rachenschleimhaut nützlich. Außerdem wirkt ein Tee aus den Blättern blut- und hautreinigend.
Interessant ist auch, dass die Beeren in der Lage sind, Kupfer zu binden; erhöhte Kupferkonzentrationen im Körper können zu nervösen Unruhezuständen führen.
Für die Innere Anwendung überbrühe man zwei Teelöffel der getrockneten Blätter mit einer Tasse kochendem Wasser, lasse das ganze zehn Minuten ziehen und trinke davon drei Mal am Tag.
Für die Behandlung unreiner Haut überbrühe man zwei bis drei Teelöffel der getrockneten Blätter mit einer Tasse kochendem Wasser, lasse das ganze zehn Minuten ziehen und durchfeuchte ein Tuch damit, welches man als Kompresse auf die betroffenen Hautpartien legt.

Am Salzberg bei Hallstatt wurde 1846 von Johann Georg Ramsauer ein ausgedehntes Gräberfeld entdeckt und teilweise ausgegraben.
